Tyler Woods focuses his practice on business litigation, general civil litigation and intellectual property litigation. He has been recognized numerous times as a “Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine – a distinction recognizing the top two and one-half percent of attorneys under age 40 for excellence in the practice of law.
Mr. Woods represents employers in defending claims pertaining to employment discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, wage and hour disputes, breach of employment contracts, unfair competition and misappropriation of trade secrets. Mr. Woods also regularly provides employers with counsel regarding employment policies and practices. In addition to his employment related practice, Tyler routinely represents clients in business disputes, complex litigation, breach of contract litigation, property owners in unlawful detainer actions, and business and property owners in mechanic’s lien proceedings. Finally, Mr. Woods’s intellectual property practice involves representing clients in a large variety of high-tech industries including athletic technology, consumer electronics, and computer hardware and software. Mr. Woods routinely appears in federal and state courts throughout California on behalf of his clients.
Prior to joining Newport Trial Group, Mr. Woods was a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in McDermott Will & Emery LLP’s Orange County office. Mr. Woods graduated from USC School of Law in 2004 and U.C. Davis in 1999.
